ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar departed for Beijing on Monday for a three-day official visit (May 19–21), as regional tensions remain high following a recent military escalation between Pakistan and India.

During his visit, Senator Dar will hold comprehensive talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, focusing on the evolving security situation in South Asia and its implications for regional peace and stability. The discussions will also cover a full review of Pakistan-China bilateral relations and an exchange of views on major regional and international developments.

The visit is part of a series of high-level exchanges between Islamabad and Beijing, underscoring the two countries’ enduring commitment to their “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.”

India’s Narrative Has Collapsed: Dar
Speaking to reporters before his departure, Dar emphasized that the international community, including China, has recognized the truth about recent developments in the region.

“The world knows that all Indian allegations were baseless and politically motivated,” Dar said. “India’s blame game has collapsed under the weight of facts and international scrutiny.”

He further noted that over the past three weeks, Pakistan has actively engaged with the diplomatic communities of more than 60 countries to present its position on regional and global issues.

“This outreach has helped the world better understand Pakistan’s perspective. China, being a close and trusted friend, has remained fully engaged with us throughout,” he added.

Dar also revealed that he has spoken with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi twice in recent weeks. “When we meet in person, we will review all matters of mutual concern in depth,” he said, expressing hope that the visit would further enhance diplomatic, political, and strategic coordination between the two countries.
