Dr Tazeem Hussain, Regional Director of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP), Saudi Arabia, has praised the services of the Pakistan Embassy in Riyadh for supporting the Pakistani community and journalists in the Kingdom.
A ceremony was organised by the Pakistan United Media Forum (PUMF) in Riyadh to recognise the services and contributions of Pakistani journalists residing in Saudi Arabia. Welfare Attaché of the Embassy of Pakistan, Sayed Aziz, and renowned Saudi-based social personality Abrar Tanoli, who was recently awarded the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz by the Government of Pakistan, attended the ceremony as special guests.
Dr Tazeem Hussain also attended the event as a special guest and appreciated PUMF for bringing journalists from Riyadh together on one platform.
In his address, Dr Tazeem said the gathering demonstrated that Pakistanis remained united under one flag and shared each other’s joys and sorrows. He stressed the need for Pakistanis living abroad to support one another and play their role in easing each other’s difficulties.
He urged the community to set aside differences and remember that they were, first and foremost, Pakistanis, adding that unity and mutual support were a collective responsibility in a foreign land.
Dr Tazeem thanked the PUMF team and journalists of Riyadh for their positive role in journalism and for promoting Pakistan’s image and raising the national flag.
The ceremony was attended by Arshad Ali Ghori, Nazim Ali, Malik Irfan Ali, Raja Naveed-ur-Rehman, Kamran Ashraf, Mubashir Anwar, Wasim Khan, Imtiaz Ahmed, Jehan Zeb, Khalid Rana and Mussarat Khalil, among other prominent journalists and personalities. Senior journalist Abid Shamon participated online from Pakistan.
Dr Tazeem also appreciated the assistance provided by the welfare wing of the Pakistan Embassy in helping resolve medical issues faced by needy Pakistani patients in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Dr Tazeem Hussain was presented with an appreciation document by Welfare Attaché Sayed Aziz in recognition of his services.
