ECC may decide Indexation Policy for Cash Transfer

ISLAMABAD:

Federal cabinet’s economic coordination committee (ECC) scheduled to be held today (Monday) under the chair the Minister for Finance and Revenue Shaukat Tarin is taking up nine agenda items.

According to sources, the ECC, under the chair the Minister for Finance and Revenue Shaukat Tarin on Monday (today), will take up nine (09) agenda items including summaries of Housing & Works, Information and Broadcasting, Interior, Narcotics Control, Poverty Alleviation & Social Safety, Science and Technology, and Establishment division. And, ministries/divisions have been requested to ensure minimum participation in view of present wave of COVID-19.

As per the ECC agenda, Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety will present a summary titled as Indexation Policy for Cash Transfer in the meeting (ECC). Similarly, Housing & Works Ministry will table two summaries before the meeting including ‘Additional Funds under Demand No. 188-Capital Outlay on Civil Works during the current Financial Year (2020-21) in respect of 03 Development Schemes of Ministry of Housing & Works, and ‘Technical Supplementary Grant amounting to 43,00million in favour of Ministry of Housing & Works under Demand No. 188-Capital on Civil Works during the current Financial Year (2020-21).

The Information and Broadcasting will lay before ECC a summary titled as ‘Re-Appropriation of PSDP Funds through Technical Supplementary Grant.

Similarly, ECC will take up a summary of Interior Ministry titled as ‘Technical Supplementary Grant of Rs 30 million under Demand No.99-Pak Rangers (Sindh) during current financial year (2020-21).

During the course of ECC meeting, Narcotics Control Division will also seek technical supplementary grant of Rs 5,00 million from the allocated budget of Demand No.117-Other Expenditure of Narcotics Control ANF during the FY 2020-21. Similarly, Science and Technology Ministry will present a summary to secure allocation of technical supplementary grant for pay and allowances of the faculty, officers and staff of National University of Science & Technology, Islamabad. Likewise, a summary of Establishment division will be tabled before ECC, seeking technical supplementary grant in respect of Demand No.021-FPSC for the FY 2020-21.

It is also learnt from ECC agenda that a summary of Establishment Division will be presented before the ECC to consider payment of arrears of contribution amounting to Rs 3369.62 million on account of griup insurance fund by the finance division on behalf of the federal government Non-Gazetted 9Bs-01 to BS-15) employees.
