Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has strongly condemned India for targeting innocent Pakistani civilians, accusing New Delhi of orchestrating cross-border attacks for political mileage.

In a detailed briefing to international media — flanked by senior officers of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and Pakistan Navy (PN) — the ISPR DG said India hastily blamed Pakistan for the recent Pahalgam incident within minutes of the attack, despite having no evidence. “How did Indian authorities reach the crime scene within 10 minutes and then pin the blame on Pakistan so quickly?” he questioned.

Lt Gen Sharif claimed that India is targeting women and children in Pakistan, confirming that 33 civilians, including children, were killed in recent Indian strikes. “Terrorism occurs in Pakistan daily — and India is behind it,” he added.

He further revealed that 60 Indian aircraft were airborne at the time of the incident and were engaged by Pakistan’s air defense. An audio clip of a Rafale pilot’s communication was also played during the briefing.

The ISPR DG presented video evidence showing locals in Indian-occupied Kashmir calling the Pahalgam attack a staged drama, and accusing the Indian army of manipulating narratives to distract from domestic failures. “Even Indian politicians have raised security concerns, pointing fingers at their own institutions,” he said.

He reiterated that fake encounters and extrajudicial killings are routine in occupied Kashmir, citing the Pulwama incident as a past example of a false-flag operation. The former Governor of Jammu & Kashmir had also admitted Pulwama was exploited for political gain, he noted.

The military spokesperson accused India of supporting terrorist groups like the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and ISIS affiliates to destabilize Pakistan. “Indian officials have openly admitted to sponsoring terrorism, especially in Balochistan,” he said, while showing fresh evidence of sabotage operations and terror camps inside Indian territory.

He urged India to present any evidence it may have before an independent and neutral commission. “Who gave India the right to act as judge, jury, and executioner?” he asked.

Lt Gen Sharif also showed video testimonies and clips of Indian atrocities against Kashmiris and Muslims, including the torture and killing of civilians who accidentally crossed the border. Footage of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other officials making aggressive statements was also shown, followed by a clip of captured Indian Navy officer Kulbhushan Jadhav confessing to terror activities in Pakistan.

Separately, tensions have escalated further as Pakistani security forces reported shooting down 77 Indian drones in recent days. According to security sources, 29 drones were downed by May 8, while another 48 were destroyed since Thursday night in areas including Okara, Vehari, and Pakpattan.

“All hostile drones are monitored on radar and neutralized in accordance with strict operational protocols, even in civilian zones and near commercial airspace,” the ISPR chief said.

Lt Gen Sharif concluded by assuring that Pakistan will defend its sovereignty and dignity at all costs, urging foreign journalists to independently verify the facts shared in the briefing.
