ISLAMABAD: King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), in collaboration with Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), has launched the Ramadan 2026 Food Basket Project across 30 districts of Pakistan to provide essential food assistance to vulnerable and food-insecure communities.

The initiative, being implemented under Food Basket Project (5) – Pakistan 2026, aims to support 192,500 deserving individuals by ensuring timely access to basic food supplies during the holy month of Ramadan.
According to a statement issued by the KSreleif, each food package distributed under the project weighs 97 kilograms and has been designed to meet the nutritional needs of an average family for the entire month of Ramadan.
The food basket includes 80 kilograms of flour, 5 litres of cooking oil, 5 kilograms of sugar, 2 kilograms of dates, and 5 kilograms of chickpea lentils (daal chana).
The distribution process is being carried out in a coordinated and transparent manner with the support of provincial disaster management authorities, Gilgit-Baltistan Disaster Management Authority (GBDMA), State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA), district administrations, and KSrelief’s partner organizations including Hayat Foundation and Peace and Development Organization.
KSreleif said the project reflects KSrelief’s continued commitment to strengthening food security in Pakistan by extending timely humanitarian assistance to vulnerable and low-income segments of society, particularly during Ramadan when household food needs increase.

The initiative is also being described as part of KSrelief’s broader global mission to promote humanitarian services, reduce hardship for disadvantaged communities, and contribute to sustainable stability through targeted relief programs.
