A parliamentary delegation from the Sultanate of Oman on Friday called on Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah at the Parliament House, where both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations through enhanced parliamentary cooperation and expanded collaboration in key economic sectors.

During the meeting, the Deputy Speaker highlighted that Pakistan and Oman enjoy close and brotherly relations rooted in shared Islamic values, mutual respect, and historical ties. He emphasized that Pakistan attaches great importance to its fraternal relations with Oman and expressed appreciation for the hospitality and support extended by the Sultanate to the Pakistani community residing there.
Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah said that enhanced parliamentary cooperation and regular exchanges between lawmakers of both countries would contribute to deepening bilateral ties. He noted that Pakistan and Oman share common interests and their cooperation plays an important role in promoting peace and stability in the region.
The Deputy Speaker also underlined that people-to-people contacts, including the role of the Pakistani diaspora in Oman, serve as a strong bridge between the two friendly nations.
Members of the Omani parliamentary delegation, speaking on the occasion, stated that Pakistan is a highly respected and close partner for Oman. They acknowledged that relations between the two countries are based on strong historical, religious, and mutual trust foundations. The delegation also appreciated the valuable contributions of the Pakistani diaspora toward Oman’s development and progress.
Both sides agreed to further promote cooperation in trade, investment, manpower, and parliamentary exchanges in order to strengthen the longstanding partnership between Pakistan and Oman and expand bilateral engagement in mutually beneficial areas.
