NAB starts inquiry into petrol crisis

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has tightened noose around the responsible of petrol crisis in June 2020 and asked Secretary Petroleum Division to provide relevant record along with Inquiry Commission report on the matter till 26th April.
According to sources, NAB Rawalpindi has started inquiry into the shortage of petroleum products in June 2020 which caused approximately Rs 25 billion heavy loss to the national exchequer.

As per details, under this inquiry, the NAB will look into the role of Secretary Petroleum Division, Director General (DG) Oil, and Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) in petrol crisis and asked the secretary petroleum to provide a verified copy of Inquiry Commission’s report along with other relevant documents on the matter till 26th April, 2021. Similarly, NAB will examine the alleged connivance of government officials with OMCs.
