Pakistan Decides to Expand Bilateral Relations with African Countries

Pakistan has decided to further improve relations with African countries as the Federal Cabinet approved signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for bilateral political consultations (BPC) with Ethiopia to expand relations with the African countries.

According to sources, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Ethiopia will visit Pakistan from May 9 to 12. And, during his visit to Pakistan, the Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister will inaugurate the direct Ethiopian Airlines from Karachi to Addis Ababa while he will also officially inaugurate the Ethiopian Embassy in Pakistan.

Sources in Foreign Ministry said that in terms of geography and trade, African countries are very important for Pakistan. Among the 57 member countries of the OIC, 26 are African countries. Similarly,  all 54 African countries have voting status in the United Nations (UN).
