PM Shehbaz Reassures Bilawal-Led PPP Delegation, Vows to Address Key Concerns

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday assured a high-level delegation of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), led by Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, that the federal government would address their concerns regarding controversial canals, ensure peace in Kurram district, and provide relief to flood victims in Balochistan.

The meeting took place at an Iftar dinner hosted by the prime minister at the PM House, aimed at strengthening ties with the key coalition partner and resolving its grievances.

According to a statement issued by the PPP, Prime Minister Shehbaz reiterated his commitment to resolving the party’s concerns and fostering cooperation within the ruling alliance. He acknowledged the PPP’s role in governance and its contributions to addressing national challenges.

During the meeting, the prime minister praised the PPP leadership for its proactive engagement in national affairs and for working alongside the federal government to improve the lives of citizens across all provinces.

The PPP delegation, in response, appreciated PM Shehbaz’s leadership and the government’s economic policies. They also expressed gratitude for being consulted on key decisions and reaffirmed their support for the government’s efforts to drive economic growth and stability.

The PPP’s delegation included Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, Sherry Rehman, Syed Khurshid Shah, and Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti.

Senior cabinet members, including Ishaq Dar, Ahsan Iqbal, Attaullah Tarar, Rana Sanaullah, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, and Khawaja Saad Rafique, were also present at the meeting.

The discussion underscored the importance of coalition unity as the government navigates critical political and economic challenges, with both sides pledging to work together for national progress.
