ISLAMABAD: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) dispatched its first aid shipment to Syria on Wednesday, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s dedication to global humanitarian efforts.
The shipment, which departed from King Khalid International Airport, carried essential food, shelter, and medical supplies destined for Damascus International Airport. This marks the beginning of a broader relief initiative, with a land bridge planned in the coming days, according to Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, Advisor to the Royal Court and Supervisor General of KSrelief.

Speaking to the Saudi Press Agency, Dr. Al Rabeeah stated, “Today’s airlift will be followed by a land bridge in the coming days.” He emphasized that these initiatives reflect the Kingdom’s unwavering commitment to supporting brotherly and friendly nations worldwide, especially in times of crisis.
Saudi Arabia has played a significant role in providing aid since the onset of the Syrian crisis in 2011. Through KSrelief, the Kingdom has delivered substantial assistance to internally displaced Syrians, refugees in neighboring countries, and victims of natural disasters, including the northern Syrian earthquake in February 2023.
From 2011 to the end of 2024, Saudi Arabia’s aid to Syria amounted to $856,891,000. This substantial contribution highlights the Kingdom’s leading role in international humanitarian efforts, ensuring that vital resources reach those in need during prolonged crises.
Dr. Al Rabeeah reiterated the Kingdom’s dedication to alleviating suffering and supporting stability in affected regions. With this ongoing initiative, Saudi Arabia continues its tradition of compassionate leadership in global humanitarian outreach.
