The Pakistan International Disputes Weekend 2025 concluded in Islamabad after two days of high-level dialogue, innovation, and international cooperation in the field of arbitration and dispute resolution, marking a milestone in the country’s evolving legal landscape.

Hosted at the Serena Hotel on the 11th and 12th of October, the landmark event brought together legal experts, policymakers, and institutional leaders from more than twenty countries, positioning Pakistan as an emerging regional hub for cross-border dispute resolution.

The conference was chaired by Barrister Mian Sheraz Javaid and featured prominent international institutions, including the London Court of International Arbitration, No.5 Barristers’ Chambers (UK), the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation, and the Society of Construction Law.

Delivering the keynote address, Barrister Aqeel Malik, Minister of State for Law and Justice, lauded the initiative as a major step forward in strengthening Pakistan’s role in global arbitration and enhancing confidence in the country’s legal infrastructure.

Throughout the sessions, participants discussed a wide range of topics — including CPEC-related disputes, investment arbitration, and technological innovation in dispute resolution. Interactive panels and innovation showcases underscored the transformative potential of technology-driven solutions in modern arbitration.

The event concluded with a call for greater international cooperation, capacity-building, and legal reform in alternative dispute resolution, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to global standards of legal excellence and institutional transparency.

Experts noted that such initiatives will not only attract foreign investment but also help establish Pakistan as a trusted platform for international dispute resolution in the region.
