The federal Ministry of Interior has formally asked the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to share comprehensive data on Afghan students studying in the province, as part of its ongoing efforts to update records of foreign nationals residing in Pakistan.

In an official communication, the Foreign Nationals Security Cell of the Interior Ministry has written to the KP Home Secretary, directing that details of all Afghan students enrolled in educational institutions across the province be submitted by March 27.

The letter noted that the Security Cell is currently updating its centralized dashboard on foreigners, and timely submission of accurate data from provinces is crucial to this process.

This directive comes in the wake of the federal government’s announcement that all Afghan Citizen Card (ACC) holders must leave Pakistan by March 31. The Ministry has warned that individuals failing to comply will face deportation starting April 1.

The government had earlier issued a nationwide deadline for all undocumented foreigners, urging them to voluntarily repatriate by the end of March. Officials have reiterated that strict action, including deportations, will begin against those who remain in the country without valid documentation.

Pakistan has already deported thousands of undocumented Afghan nationals since launching the repatriation campaign in late 2023, citing security, legal, and administrative concerns.
