KSrelief Dispatches Emergency Aid for Flood-Hit Families in Punjab

by admin

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) has launched a large-scale emergency relief operation to support families affected by the recent devastating floods in Punjab.

Relief distributions have begun in several of the worst-hit districts, including Kasur, Jalalpur in Multan, Alipur in Muzaffargarh, Liaqatpur in Rahimyar Khan, Rajanpur, and Bahawalnagar. Thousands of vulnerable families are receiving essential food packages and shelter kits as part of the initiative.

KSrelief has allocated 10,000 shelter non-food item kits and 10,000 food packages for the response effort. Each shelter kit includes a tent, solar panels with LED lights, two thermal blankets, plastic mats, a durable kitchen set, a water cooler, and antibacterial soap. The food packages, each weighing 95 kilograms, consist of wheat flour, sugar, lentils, and cooking oil to meet the immediate nutritional needs of flood-affected households.

The distribution process is being coordinated with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), local administrations, and KSrelief’s implementing partner, the Hayat Foundation. This collaborative approach is designed to ensure transparent, efficient, and timely delivery of aid to the most vulnerable communities.

The initiative highlights the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment, through KSrelief, to support the people of Pakistan during times of crisis. Over the years, KSrelief has implemented numerous humanitarian projects in Pakistan, covering key sectors such as food security, healthcare, shelter, education, and disaster relief.

The dispatch of this convoy represents another milestone in the strong relationship between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, providing critical assistance to families grappling with the devastating aftermath of the floods in Punjab.
