Pakistan and Turkiye Sign 24 Agreements to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Turkiye on Thursday reinforced their bilateral relationship by signing 24 agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) across various sectors, including defense, energy, trade, health, and education. The signing ceremony took place in Islamabad, witnessed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting, National Heritage, and Culture, Attaullah Tarar, and Turkish Director of Communications, Fahrettin Altun, exchanged MoUs aimed at enhancing collaboration in public relations, communications, and media sectors. Additionally, agreements focusing on cultural cooperation and audiovisual services were signed between Minister Tarar and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

Among the 24 agreements, four MoUs pertain to defense cooperation, including the exchange of military and civilian personnel for social and cultural purposes, and collaboration in air force electronic warfare. Other agreements encompass sectors such as power, energy, mining, trade, industrial cooperation, water management, seed production, scientific education, banking, religious services, halal food, legal affairs, health, and pharmaceuticals.

These agreements underscore the commitment of both nations to deepen their strategic partnership and foster collaboration across diverse fields, reflecting the strong historical and cultural ties between Pakistan and Turkiye.
