ISLAMABAD: Petrol consumers will pay Rs3.26 more per litre on October 2 as the government raised the price of motor spirit to Rs390.66, while diesel was reduced by Rs1.01 to Rs399.34 per litre under the daily petroleum pricing mechanism.

The Petroleum Division said OGRA revised the prices in accordance with the federal government’s petroleum pricing mechanism.

Petrol has been increased from Rs387.40 to Rs390.66 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel has been reduced from Rs400.35 to Rs399.34 per litre.

The petrol price increase will raise fuel expenses for motorists and commuters using petrol-powered vehicles, while the reduction in diesel prices will provide a comparatively smaller relief to consumers dependent on HSD.

Diesel is widely used by transport and other sectors, but the latest Rs1.01 reduction keeps its price close to the Rs400-per-litre level.

The Petroleum Division attributed the latest changes to global events, including movements in Platts rates, premiums and incidentals.

The latest adjustment comes under the government’s daily petroleum pricing mechanism, under which petroleum prices are revised on a daily basis.

The revised petrol and HSD prices of Rs390.66 and Rs399.34 per litre respectively will be applicable for October 2, 2026.
