The official draw for the World Fire and Rescue Sport Championship is set to take place in Riyadh on Monday, October 27, marking a major milestone in global firefighting sports and international cooperation.
The event is being organized under the umbrella of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers (ISFFR) and jointly coordinated by the General Directorate of Civil Defense and ISFFR, with teams from 21 countries participating.
The draw ceremony will be held at the organizing committee’s headquarters in Riyadh in the presence of ISFFR representatives, heads of national delegations, and international referees. It will finalize team groupings, participation order, and the official competition schedule ahead of the championship’s opening on Tuesday, October 28.
Officials confirmed that the draw will strictly follow ISFFR regulations to ensure fairness, transparency, and equal opportunity for all participating teams.
The championship will feature four main disciplines — the hook ladder climb, 100-meter obstacle course, 4×100-meter relay, and firefighting contest — testing both the physical endurance and technical expertise of firefighters and rescuers.
Hosting this world-class championship underscores Saudi Arabia’s growing leadership in civil defense and public safety, as well as its commitment to enhancing the skills, readiness, and professionalism of firefighting personnel. The event also reflects the Kingdom’s broader Vision 2030 objectives, promoting international cooperation and knowledge exchange in critical emergency response fields.
With participants from Asia, Europe, and Africa, the championship demonstrates the global confidence in Saudi Arabia’s organizational capabilities and its dedication to hosting specialized sporting events that blend athletic excellence with public service and humanitarian values.
