The Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) has announced the launch of its pioneering multi-storey factory project in the First Industrial City of Dammam, marking a historic milestone as the first facility of its kind in the Gulf region. The landmark initiative reflects MODON’s strategy to enhance Saudi Arabia’s industrial ecosystem by introducing innovative infrastructure and creating a more attractive environment for industrial investments.
The new project represents a transformative model for sustainable vertical industrial development, aimed at maximizing land-use efficiency and providing flexible solutions to investors. Spread across an area of more than 7,500 square meters, the state-of-the-art facility consists of eight floors and houses 78 industrial units, each ranging between 156 and 251 square meters in size.
Designed specifically to meet the growing needs of entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the factory offers fully serviced, ready-made spaces, enabling businesses to accelerate operations and reduce startup time. MODON emphasized that the innovative concept seeks to establish an integrated industrial ecosystem that empowers the next generation of manufacturers while fostering rapid business development.
The project demonstrates MODON’s firm commitment to supporting SMEs, which play a crucial role in driving economic growth and creating new employment opportunities across the Kingdom. It is also strategically designed to boost key industrial sectors such as food production, medical and pharmaceutical manufacturing, electronics, and advanced technologies including 3D printing.
In a statement, MODON highlighted that such high-quality, modern projects are instrumental in strengthening Saudi Arabia’s position as a leading global industrial hub. Leveraging the Kingdom’s advanced infrastructure and strategic logistical location, these initiatives aim to lead Saudi Arabia’s industrial transformation while attracting top-tier investments from around the world.
Currently, MODON oversees 39 industrial cities distributed across the Kingdom, featuring over 9,000 industrial, logistics, and investment facilities with a combined investment value exceeding 463 billion Saudi riyals. These industrial zones cover a developed area of more than 220 million square meters. MODON is also responsible for licensing and supervising privately developed industrial cities and complexes, in addition to developing their core infrastructure.
The launch of the multi-storey factory marks a new era in industrial development for Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region. It reflects MODON’s pivotal role in advancing the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, fostering sustainable industrial growth, and positioning the Kingdom as a premier global destination for innovative and competitive industrial investments.
