The operation was performed at King Abdullah Specialized Children’s Hospital within King Abdulaziz Medical City and was conducted in eight carefully coordinated stages.
A multidisciplinary team of 36 consultants, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and technical specialists participated in the procedure. The team represented several medical fields including anesthesia, pediatric surgery, urology, orthopedic surgery, and plastic surgery, supported by nursing and technical staff.
Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center and head of the surgical team Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah said the procedure marks the 68th successful separation conducted under the Saudi Conjoined Twins Programme.
He said the program has treated 156 conjoined twins from 28 countries over the past 35 years, highlighting Saudi Arabia’s role in humanitarian medical care and specialized surgery.
Al Rabeeah said the continued success of the program reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to humanitarian values and its willingness to extend advanced medical services to patients from around the world.
He also expressed appreciation to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Mohammed bin Salman for their ongoing support for the initiative.
According to Al Rabeeah, the program’s achievements demonstrate Saudi Arabia’s growing reputation as a global center for complex pediatric surgeries and humanitarian healthcare services.
The twins’ parents expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Saudi leadership and medical team for providing specialized treatment for their children. They also praised the Kingdom’s hospitality during their stay and wished continued progress and prosperity for Saudi Arabia.
