Saudi Arabia is set to celebrate its vibrant multicultural identity with the launch of the second edition of the “Global Harmony” initiative on Sunday, organized by the Ministry of Media in partnership with the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) and the Quality of Life Program under Vision 2030.
The initiative — known as “Global Harmony 2” — aims to highlight the Kingdom’s diverse social fabric by showcasing the lives, achievements, and contributions of expatriate communities living in Saudi Arabia. It also seeks to promote cross-cultural understanding, community integration, and a sense of shared belonging among citizens and residents alike.
This year’s launch will coincide with Riyadh Season events and will begin with a celebration dedicated to the Indian community, featuring cultural and artistic performances, traditional cuisine, and folk shows. Prominent Indian media organizations are also participating in the opening ceremony.
Over the coming weeks, 14 cultures will be represented in the initiative’s festivities, including India, Pakistan, Egypt, the Philippines, Indonesia, Yemen, Sudan, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Bangladesh, Uganda, and Ethiopia. Each cultural segment will include concerts, traveling performances, family activities, and exhibitions of traditional handicrafts.
Officials from the Ministry of Media stated that the initiative embodies Vision 2030’s Quality of Life objectives, which aim to enhance community engagement, promote cultural inclusion, and strengthen Saudi Arabia’s position as a global center of coexistence and creativity.
By celebrating the diversity of its residents, the Kingdom seeks to foster deeper mutual respect and highlight the integral role expatriate communities play in shaping Saudi Arabia’s economy, society, and shared future.
