In a remarkable humanitarian gesture, conjoined Jamaican twins Azaria and Azura arrived in Riyadh on Monday for medical evaluation, following royal directives issued by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.

The twins, accompanied by their parents, were transported from Jamaica aboard a Ministry of Defense medical evacuation aircraft. Upon landing at King Khalid International Airport, they were immediately transferred to King Abdullah Specialist Children’s Hospital at King Abdulaziz Medical City, under the Ministry of National Guard, where their condition will be assessed to determine the feasibility of a separation surgery.

Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah, Advisor to the Royal Court and Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), as well as head of the medical team, praised the Kingdom’s leadership for their swift and compassionate response. He stated that the initiative underscores Saudi Arabia’s global humanitarian role and world-class medical expertise, particularly in the field of conjoined twin separation.

Dr. Al Rabeeah highlighted that the Kingdom has become a global leader in such complex medical procedures, owing to the Saudi medical team’s extensive experience and consistent success in similar cases.

The twins’ parents expressed profound gratitude to the Saudi leadership and people, appreciating the warm reception, care, and generosity extended to their family.
