Federal cabinet summoned on Tuesday is set to take up 13 agenda points and is likely to grant exemption from Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) Ordinance 2002 for development of Darbar Kartarpur Sahib Corridor project.
According to sources, the federal cabinet on Tuesday will take up a 13 agenda points including grant of exemption under Section 11 of PPRA Ordinance 2002 for development of Darbar Kartarpur Sahib Corridor project.
Earlier, India and Pakistan had signed a deal under which both countries will allow pilgrims from India to visit one of Sikhism’s holiest shrines in Pakistan without a visa.
Sikhism was born in Punjab, a region that was divided during the partition of British India in 1947.
The Kartarpur corridor is a new entry point giving access to the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur in Punjab.
Darbar sahib Kartarpur is located 4.5 kms from the border with India. It is one of the holiest place for Sikhs where Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji settled and preached for last 18 years of his life and is his last resting place also.
Sources also told that next cabinet meeting will take up summaries of commerce, cabinet, railways, federal education & professional training, finance, foreign affairs, national food security & research, national health services, regulations & coordination divisions.
On Tuesday, the cabinet will also take decision regarding proposal to legislate to establish a centralized database with the mandate to collect information/ data related to essential food commodities.
Similarly, next cabinet meeting will take important decisions regarding composition of the board of joint investment companies and the delegation of powers to Strategic Export Control Division.
Likewise, the cabinet will consider appointment of members of Board of Governors under Federal Medical Training Institutes Ordinance, 2020.
More, permission for transshipment of 05×40 feet containers containing 1o armored vehicles including spare parts for UNAMA arrived under bill of Lading SPRJO1388424 and No. SPRJO 1406659 and 1×20 feet container STC 4 packages of genuine spare parts for UNICEF official vehicles from Karachi to Kabul arrived under Bill of Lading No. 910414412.
Furthermore, appointment of Chief Executive Officer (CEO), National Insurance Company Limited, and decision taken on cabinet meeting held on January 12, 2021 and March 16, 2021 (viewpoint of Railways Division on the presentation/report of the cabinet committee headed by minister for federal education regarding construction of multistory building at Nowshera).
Besides, ratification of the decisions taken by the cabinet committee on institutional reforms (CCIR) in its meeting held on 31-03-2021 and ratification of the decision taken by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the cabinet in its meeting held on 07-04-2021.
The sources also informed that Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Power & Petroleum, during the course of this meeting, will give presentation on circular debt management plan while Adviser to PM on IR&A will also give a presentation on Pakistan Airlines restructuring plan.
