ISLAMABAD: The Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) and Future Development Holdings (Private) Limited (FDHL) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop a housing scheme on approximately 2,000 kanals of land within Capital Smart City in Rawalpindi district under a land-sharing model.
The agreement aims to expand residential opportunities for federal government employees and the general public through collaboration between the public and private sectors.
The MoU was signed at FGEHA headquarters in Islamabad on Wednesday by FGEHA Chief Engineer Syed Muhammad Hassan and FDHL Executive Director Brigadier (Retd.) Muhammad Nadeem Aslam.

FGEHA Director General Capt. (Retd.) Muhammad Zafar Iqbal said the proposed project was part of the authority’s efforts to provide quality and affordable housing through partnerships with private-sector developers and more effective utilisation of available resources.
He said the land-sharing arrangement would facilitate the development of residential facilities in Rawalpindi and adjoining areas. However, the authority’s announcement did not specify the project’s completion timeline, expected number of residential units or proposed prices.
The FGEHA chief added that several housing projects in Islamabad and Karachi had been completed, while others were at advanced stages of development. He said the authority was working to complete ongoing projects within their stipulated timelines, with an emphasis on transparency and improved residential facilities.
