ISLAMABAD: Ameer Abdul Qadeer Awan, Sheikh of the Naqshbandia Owaisia Silsila and head of Tanzeem Al-Ikhwan Pakistan, emphasized the importance of instilling fear of Allah in hearts and adhering to divine guidance to resolve societal unrest.
Speaking during his Friday sermon, he highlighted that the lack of fear of Allah and self-centered living are major causes of discord, uncertainty, and conflict within society.
“If we align our lives with the commands of Allah Almighty and base our decisions on the teachings of the Holy Prophet , mutual respect will prevail. Differences will be resolved through dialogue, and decisions—being in accordance with the Quran and Sunnah—will be accepted wholeheartedly, regardless of who they favor,” he stated.

He further elaborated on the significance of the Holy Prophet ﷺ’s timeless prophethood, which is free from the constraints of any specific era and meant for all of humanity until the Day of Judgment. Ameer Abdul Qadeer Awan called the era of the Holy Prophet ﷺ the most blessed period, followed by the next two eras. He lamented that as humanity drifts further from that time, moral and spiritual decay has escalated, leading to contradictions between words and actions, and between outward appearances and inner realities.
“This inconsistency breeds chaos and darkens hearts. Righteous deeds stem from the purity of intentions and hearts. When lives are self-centered, the societal outcomes are evident in the form of disorder and disharmony we witness today,” he remarked. He urged people to embody such character that inspires goodness and devotion to religion.
He stressed that true improvement lies in aligning preferences with what pleases Allah and His beloved Prophet ﷺ, rather than personal likes and dislikes. “This ensures that everyone’s rights are honored and mutual respect thrives,” he added.
The Ameer also expressed concern over the prevalence of arrogance and self-importance in speech and behavior. He noted that such attitudes diminish the sincerity of worship. “Neglecting worship due to worldly commitments deprives us of blessings, leading to increased burdens. However, prioritizing devotion to Allah will bring such blessings that less time will yield greater results,” he explained.
He concluded his sermon with a collective prayer for the security, prosperity, and survival of the nation, calling upon Allah Almighty to grant wisdom and guidance to all.
