The government on Thursday increased the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) for the fourth consecutive day, raising the ex-depot price of petrol by Rs4.40 per litre and HSD by Rs3.62 per litre for a one-day period.
According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the ex-depot price of petrol has been increased to Rs331.52 per litre after a hike of Rs4.40 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel has been raised by Rs3.62 per litre to Rs378.66 per litre.
The Petroleum Division said the revised prices were determined by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) under the government’s daily petroleum pricing mechanism and will remain applicable from 12:00am today until 12:00am tomorrow.
The latest increase comes a day after the government raised petrol prices by Rs6.39 per litre and high-speed diesel prices by Rs7.83 per litre, continuing the upward trend in fuel prices.
