ISLAMABAD: Dr. Salem bin Mohammed Al-Malik, Director General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), on Monday received Pakistan’s Ambassador to Morocco, Adel Gilani, to review ways to strengthen cooperation in education, science, and culture.

At the meeting, held September 1, 2025, at ISESCO headquarters in Rabat, Dr. Al-Malik reaffirmed the organization’s solidarity with Pakistan and expressed readiness to support national recovery efforts following the devastating floods that struck the country in late August.

He underscored ISESCO’s commitment to assisting member states in times of crisis, particularly in safeguarding educational institutions and cultural heritage sites affected by natural disasters.

Ambassador Gilani thanked ISESCO for its stance in support of Pakistan during a critical time, noting that the floods claimed lives and caused widespread damage, including the destruction of schools. He praised the organization’s continued role in promoting resilience and development across its member states.

The two sides also reviewed ongoing cooperation and agreed to accelerate joint projects in the coming period. These include initiatives to build youth capacities and harness artificial intelligence technologies in education and cultural preservation.

The meeting concluded with both sides pledging to deepen collaboration under ISESCO’s broader framework of supporting innovation, sustainable development, and knowledge-sharing among member states.
