ISLAMABAD: The government on Monday reduced the ex-depot price of petrol by Rs4.08 per litre and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs2.45 per litre for August 4 under the revised daily petroleum pricing mechanism, offering modest relief to consumers.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised petroleum prices in line with the federal government’s updated pricing mechanism.
The ex-depot price of Motor Spirit (MS) has been reduced from Rs336.03 per litre to Rs331.95 per litre, reflecting a cut of Rs4.08 per litre.
Similarly, the ex-depot price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has been lowered from Rs392.38 per litre to Rs389.93 per litre, down Rs2.45 per litre.
The revised prices will be applicable on August 4, 2026, replacing the rates that had remained in force since August 1.
The latest adjustment has been made under Pakistan’s revised daily petroleum pricing mechanism, under which OGRA reviews and notifies ex-depot prices on a daily basis in line with market conditions.
