ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Tuesday decreased the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) by Rs 9.95 per Kilogram for the month of November 2023 and issued a notification in this regard.
According to OGRA, LPG producer price is linked with Saudi Aramco-CP and US$ dollar exchange rate. As compared to previous month Saudi Aramco-CP has increased by 1.15 percent. The average Dollar exchange rate has however gone down by 6pc resulting to decrease in LPG consumer price by Rs.117.47/11.8 kg cylinder (3.8%). The per kg decrease in LPG consumer price is Rs.9.95.
According to OGRA notification, maximum producer price with GST is fixed at Rs 2,474.83 per 11.8 KG cylinder while maximum LPG consumer price is set at Rs 2,962.17/11.8KG cylinder, effective from November 01 2023.
After OGRA’ notification regarding LPG price for the month of November, 2023, the price of domestic cylinder will witness reduction by Rs 117 and commercial cylinder by Rs 452. And, now LPG will be available at Rs 251 per kg instead of Rs 261 per kg, domestic cylinders will be available at Rs 2962 instead of Rs 3080 and commercial cylinders will be available at Rs 11397 instead of Rs 11849.
It is pertinent to mention that LPG price has witnessed hike in the international market while it is decreased in the country ostensibly due to appreciation in the value of Pak currency against the US dollar’s value.
LPG is mostly used in remote areas of the country where natural gas is not supplied. It is an alternate fuel basically used in Pakistan for domestic and commercial cooking purposes. It is also used in transport sector, in power generation and for any other energy generating equipment as an alternative fuel.
