Saudi Arabia is preparing to host the official draw for the World Fire and Rescue Sport Championship on October 27, bringing together elite firefighters and rescuers from 21 countries in a global display of skill, strength, and teamwork.

Organized by the General Directorate of Civil Defense in collaboration with the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers (ISFFR), the draw ceremony will be held at the organizing committee’s headquarters in Riyadh. Senior officials from ISFFR, international referees, and heads of national delegations will attend the event.

The draw will finalize team groupings, participation order, and competition schedules for the four core events — hook ladder climb, 100-meter obstacle course, 4×100-meter relay, and firefighting contest — ahead of the championship’s formal start on October 28.

Officials said the upcoming world championship underscores Saudi Arabia’s growing leadership in promoting civil defense excellence, international cooperation, and emergency preparedness under the goals of Vision 2030.

The event aims not only to strengthen technical expertise and physical preparedness among global firefighting teams but also to enhance cross-border collaboration and knowledge exchange in disaster response and public safety management.

With teams from Asia, Europe, and Africa confirming their participation, the championship reflects international trust in the Kingdom’s organizational capabilities and commitment to hosting specialized sporting events that blend professionalism, athleticism, and public service values.
