ISLAMABAD: Renowned Saudi scholar and advocate for religious tolerance, Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, has arrived in Pakistan on his significant 10-day visit mainly to bolster interfaith dialogue and strengthen diplomatic relations between the two nations.
Dr. Al-Issa, esteemed as the Secretary General of the Muslim World League and Chairman of the Council of Muslim Scholars, has long championed initiatives fostering inclusivity and understanding within Islam. His global efforts to combat Islamophobia and promote religious coexistence have earned widespread recognition.
Among his notable achievements is the facilitation of the historic dialogue culminating in the signing of “The Charter of Makkah” in 2019, a milestone in promoting mutual respect and understanding among Muslim and non-Muslim communities.
During his visit to Pakistan, Dr. Al-Issa is slated to lead the Eid ul Fitr prayer at Islamabad’s iconic Faisal Mosque, a symbolic gesture of unity and faith. Additionally, he will inaugurate the groundbreaking Seerat-un-Nabi Museum, the first of its kind in Pakistan, dedicated to illuminating the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) through innovative technologies.
Furthermore, Dr. Al-Issa’s itinerary encompasses crucial meetings with prominent Pakistani officials including the Prime Minister, Chief Justice, and Chief of Army Staff. These high-level engagements underscore the commitment to fortifying diplomatic and cultural ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, emphasizing mutual cooperation and understanding on regional and global issues.
