ISLAMABAD: Consumers will pay more for fuel from October 29, 2026, after the government increased petrol prices by Rs1.85 per litre and diesel prices by Rs1.75, raising the two fuels to Rs377.91 and Rs399.82 per litre, respectively.
The Petroleum Division said the ex-depot price of petrol had been revised upward from Rs376.06 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel increased from Rs398.07 per litre.
The latest adjustment is likely to increase the financial burden on motorists and businesses already dealing with high transportation and operating expenses. Petrol price increases directly affect private vehicle users and motorcyclists, while diesel hikes can raise costs for freight companies, buses and other commercial transport services.
Higher transportation costs can feed into the prices of food, consumer goods and other essentials if transporters and suppliers pass on the additional expenses. The extent of any impact on retail prices will depend on operating costs and market conditions.
According to the Petroleum Division, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised the prices under the government’s petroleum pricing mechanism. The division cited changes in international Platts rates, premiums and other incidental charges as factors behind the adjustment.
