The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has launched a dedicated electronic portal aimed at enabling Saudi nonprofit organizations to actively participate in international humanitarian and relief operations, in a move designed to enhance governance, transparency, and institutional integration.

The portal was inaugurated at KSrelief headquarters in Riyadh by Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of KSrelief, Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, in the presence of representatives from nonprofit organizations and senior KSrelief officials.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Al Rabeeah said KSrelief was founded on the initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and has progressed under the continued guidance of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He noted that the center has emerged as a cornerstone of Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian outreach, delivering assistance across 109 countries through more than 4,000 relief projects with total spending exceeding $8.276 billion, reflecting the Kingdom’s commitment to global humanitarian responsibility.

He further highlighted that KSrelief’s humanitarian impact is strengthened by a comprehensive volunteer framework that mobilizes Saudi expertise worldwide. According to Dr. Al Rabeeah, more than 1,200 volunteer projects have been implemented in dozens of countries, with a combined value exceeding $147 million. He said this volunteer-driven approach reinforces Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian leadership and showcases the Saudi citizen as a global contributor to peace and human dignity.

Dr. Al Rabeeah explained that the newly launched portal represents a strategic shift toward empowering national nonprofit organizations by integrating them into KSrelief’s external projects. In its initial phase, the platform has evaluated 50 Saudi nonprofit organizations against internationally recognized governance standards. These organizations have already executed 229 humanitarian and relief projects and conducted 50,855 surgical procedures in over 20 countries, with total assistance exceeding SAR 115 million, demonstrating their operational capacity and field presence in some of the world’s most vulnerable communities.

Following the address, participants viewed a documentary illustrating the role of Saudi nonprofit organizations in international relief efforts and their contribution to projecting the Kingdom’s humanitarian image abroad under the KSrelief umbrella. Dr. Al Rabeeah then formally launched the portal, which allows organizations to apply in both Arabic and English, receive preliminary accreditation, operate internationally, manage volunteer initiatives, and implement relief programs, while also streamlining procedures, improving transparency, and strengthening long-term partnerships in global humanitarian work.
