National Assembly to Debate Key Legislative Bills in Today’s Session

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly of Pakistan is set to convene today at 11:00 AM in the Parliament House, Islamabad, under the chairmanship of Speaker Ayaz Sadiq.
The session’s agenda includes eight significant points, focusing on legislative advancements and pressing national concerns.

Law Minister Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar will present the Civil Courts (Amendment) Bill, 2024, aiming to introduce reforms in the civil judiciary system. Additionally, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi is scheduled to lay before the Assembly the Pakistan Coast Guards (Amendment) Bill, 2024, for consideration and passage.

The session will also address calling attention notices regarding the deteriorating condition of roads in rural areas, particularly Jagiot Road and Sikander-e-Azam Road in Islamabad. Furthermore, the Assembly will deliberate on the severe financial difficulties faced by public sector universities, seeking solutions to ensure the sustainability and quality of higher education in the country.

These discussions underscore the Assembly’s commitment to addressing critical infrastructure and educational challenges, reflecting its dedication to national development and public welfare.
