ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s exploration and production industry is set to pursue stronger government engagement and investment promotion under newly elected PPEPCA Chairman Ahmed Hayat Lak for the 2026-28 term.
Lak, who heads Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDC), was elected Chairman of the Pakistan Petroleum Exploration and Production Companies Association, while Andrzej Kaczorowski of ORLEN S.A. (POGC) was elected Senior Vice Chairman and Ali Murtaza Abbas of MOL Pakistan B.V. became Vice Chairman.
The new leadership is expected to focus on addressing policy and operational challenges facing exploration and production companies, strengthening industry representation and promoting sustainable investment in the domestic oil and gas sector.
The appointments were finalised at the Executive Committee meeting on October 26, following elections to the committee during PPEPCA’s 33rd Annual General Meeting on September 28, 2026.
The association’s Executive Committee expressed confidence that Lak’s leadership would help advance the industry’s common interests, citing OGDC’s pivotal role as Pakistan’s largest oil and gas exploration and production company and its contribution to national energy security.
PPEPCA Secretary General Ibrar Khan said the association’s Secretariat would work closely with the newly elected office bearers and Executive Committee to strengthen coordination with government and regulatory authorities.
He said the association would continue working on investment, sustainable growth and energy security while addressing major policy and operational issues affecting member companies.
The committee also congratulated the newly elected Senior Vice Chairman and Vice Chairman, acknowledging their experience and contributions to industry collaboration and investment promotion.
It further appreciated outgoing Chairman Masood Nabi for his leadership and efforts to represent the concerns of the exploration and production industry before relevant government forums.
