Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has announced a significant oil and gas discovery from the Faqar-1 well, located in the Khairpur district of Sindh.
According to the OGDCL spokesperson, the well is currently producing 55 barrels of crude oil per day and approximately 6.4 million standard cubic feet of gas per day (MMSCFD).
The company attributed this success to the use of modern exploration and production technologies, which enabled efficient extraction from the reservoir.
“This discovery marks another milestone in OGDCL’s journey toward energy self-sufficiency and reflects our commitment to using advanced technology for maximizing hydrocarbon potential,” the spokesperson stated.
The newly discovered reserves are expected to help reduce the country’s energy deficit and contribute positively to the national energy mix.
Terming it a major achievement, the spokesperson emphasized that the Faqar-1 discovery demonstrates OGDCL’s growing role in addressing Pakistan’s energy challenges through indigenous resource development.
