OGRA Salshes LPG Price by Rs2.52 per Cylinder for March

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has reduced the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by Rs2.52 per 11.8kg cylinder for March 2026, offering slight relief to domestic and commercial consumers across the country.

According to a notification issued on Monday, OGRA fixed the maximum producer price of LPG at Rs184,536.99 per ton for March 2026, down from Rs184,750.87 per ton in February, reflecting a decrease of Rs213.88 per ton.

On a per-cylinder basis, the producer price has been set at Rs2,177.54 for an 11.8kg cylinder compared to Rs2,180.06 in the previous month — a reduction of Rs2.52.

Similarly, the maximum consumer price has been fixed at Rs225,836.99 per ton for March against Rs226,050.87 per ton in February, also showing a decline of Rs213.88 per ton.

For household consumers, the notified price of an 11.8kg LPG cylinder now stands at Rs2,664.88, down from Rs2,667.40 last month — translating into a Rs2.52 reduction, or 0.09 percent. On a per kilogram basis, the decrease comes to Rs0.21.

OGRA said the LPG producer price is linked with Saudi Aramco Contract Price (CP) and the US dollar exchange rate. While the Saudi Aramco-CP remained unchanged compared to the previous month, the average dollar exchange rate declined by 0.11 percent, resulting in the marginal reduction in consumer prices.

The regulator added that the LPG price notification for March 2026 is available on its official website.

LPG is widely used in Pakistan, particularly in areas without access to piped natural gas, as well as in commercial sectors including restaurants, tandoors, poultry farms, and small industries. Any change in LPG prices directly impacts household budgets, especially in rural and hilly regions where it serves as a primary cooking fuel.

Although the reduction is nominal, it provides minor relief to consumers already grappling with high energy costs and inflationary pressures.
