Pakistan, Morocco Agree to Deepen Cooperation in Agriculture, Food Security

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Morocco have agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in agriculture and food security, with both countries expressing commitment to expanding collaboration in agricultural trade, livestock development, capacity building and the exchange of technical expertise.

The understanding was reached during a meeting between Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain and Moroccan Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development and Forests Ahmed El Bouari in Rabat.

According to an official statement, the two ministers held cordial and productive discussions on matters of mutual interest and reviewed the existing state of bilateral cooperation in the agriculture sector.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on enhancing collaboration in agricultural trade, capacity building initiatives, livestock development and sharing expertise to promote sustainable agricultural growth and improve food security.

The ministers reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and agreed to remain in close contact to advance cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

As part of efforts to further deepen bilateral engagement, Rana Tanveer Hussain invited his Moroccan counterpart, Ahmed El Bouari, to undertake an official visit to Pakistan at his convenience.

The invitation was warmly received, with both sides expressing confidence that high-level exchanges would contribute to further strengthening cooperation and expanding partnership in the agricultural sector.
