Pakistan Stock Exchange made new history as the daily volume surged to 2.217 billion shares surpassing the Wednesday best of 1.56 billion shares with highest turnover recorded in company’s shares- in World Call amounting to 950 million shares.
The trading volume on Thursday closed at 2.217 billion shares surpassing previous best where total value trade at PSX also increased by 37 percent to Rs 57 billion. The tradeed value has been highest in the last 14.3 years.
The trading session saw the highest traded volume in a single scrip in the history of PSX. Traded volume in WTL settled at 950 million shares. The previous highest traded volume was also witnessed in WTL (707mn shares).Turnover in Hum Network was at 173 million shares.
Saeed Khalid, head of research at Shajar Capital said that the stock market corrected during the last trading session mainly on concerns of post monetary policy session horizon.
The KSE100 index marked an intra-day low of 137 points mainly due to profit taking activity in Banks, Steels and Fertilizer. Further, WTL again remained the top volumetric performer during the session.
“Investors booked capital gains later this evening mainly on the uncertainty over the Monetary Policy decision later tomorrow”, he said.
“We have noticed strong buying in WTL, SILK, BYCO, KEL and TELE mainly due to expected revival in GDP growth of 3.94% and expected consumer friendly Budget FY22”, Saeed said.
