Haripur PhD Scholar Completes Landmark Study on KP’s Public Health Emergency Readiness

PhD scholar Majid Ali Tahir of the Department of Public Health & Nutrition, University of Haripur, successfully defended his doctoral thesis titled “A Comprehensive Assessment of Preparedness and Readiness of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Manage Public Health Emergencies” during a public defense held on June 22, 2026.

His research provides important evidence for strengthening provincial health security, emergency preparedness, and response systems in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The study highlights key strengths, identifies critical gaps, and proposes a practical framework to improve the province’s ability to prevent, detect, and respond to public health emergencies.

Special Thanks to External Examiners Prof. Dr. Saira Afzal (Dean, Institute of Public Health, Lahore), and Prof. Dr. Rubeena Zakar (Professor of Public Health, University of the Punjab, Lahore), and Internal Examiner, Dr. Abbas Khan for their valuable insights and contribution in improving the quality of research work.
