SC larger bench on postponement of elections in Punjab, KP breaks up

ISLAMABAD: Justice Aminuddin, a five-member bench of the Supreme Court, excused himself from hearing the case of postponement of elections in two provinces, after which the larger bench of the court broke up.
Justice Amin said that he apologizes for delaying the case in the context of Justice Qazi Faiz Isa’s decision.
After Justice Aminuddin spoke, the bench left the courtroom.
After Justice Amin apologized, the larger bench of the court was dissolved and now a new bench will be constituted in the case.
On Wednesday, the Supreme Court ordered that all cases under Article 184 III (automatic notice) be adjourned until the rules are framed.
A 3-member special bench headed by Justice Qazi Faiz Isa issued a decision on its own notice to award 20 additional marks to Hafiz Quran in the Supreme Court.
The special bench comprises Justice Aminuddin and Justice Shahid Waheed and the verdict was delivered in the ratio of two to one.
