Federal cabinet on Tuesday is expected to approve appointment of Community Welfare Attaches in Pakistan Mission abroad.
According to sources, the federal cabinet which is scheduled to meet on Tuesday is scheduled to take up 14 agenda items including appointment of Community Welfare Attaches in Pakistan Mission abroad.
Under section 7 of the Emigration Ordinance , 1979, the federal government to safeguard the interest of emigrants and promote overseas employment, appoints a person to be a labor attaché/community welfare attaché.
Currently, there are 24 posts of Community Welfare Attaches (CWAs) in various Pakistan Mission abroad. Selection against these posts is made in accordance with the amended policy guidelines issued by the Establishment Division’s O.M. dated 21-10-2020
Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (OP&HRD) recently processed the selection of CWAs on seven available posts. Special Selection Board (SSB), under the chairmanship of Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on OP&HRD, interviewed the shortlisted candidates and top seven candidates were selected. The stations of postings of the selected candidates were to be decided by M/o OP&HRD as per decision of the federal cabinet dated 27-08-2019. However, Establishment Division observed that it was one time dispensation despite no mentioning of it in the decision.
The Prime Minister, being In-charge for OP&HRD, has seen and authorized the submission of the summary to the federal cabinet, said sources.
