A reception was hosted at the Embassy of Pakistan in Rabat on September 16, 2026, to commemorate Pakistan’s Defence Day and honour the courage, valour and sacrifices of the men and women of the Pakistan Armed Forces in defending the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Addressing the gathering, Ambassador of Pakistan to Morocco Syed Adil Gilani paid tribute to Pakistan’s martyrs and veterans and highlighted the values of courage, sacrifice and resilience associated with Defence Day.
Referring to Marka-e-Haq, the ambassador underscored the professionalism, preparedness and resolve of Pakistan’s Armed Forces in safeguarding national security.
Ambassador Gilani also highlighted Pakistan’s longstanding contribution to United Nations peacekeeping and acknowledged the dedication and sacrifices of Pakistani peacekeepers in promoting international peace and security.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace, dialogue, regional stability, respect for sovereignty and international law.
Two short documentaries were screened during the reception, highlighting the history, preparedness, professionalism and operational capabilities of the Pakistan Armed Forces.
The reception was attended by distinguished Moroccan officials, members of the diplomatic corps, media representatives, members of the Pakistani community and other invited guests.
The event concluded with traditional Pakistani cuisine, providing guests an opportunity to experience Pakistan’s culinary heritage.
