ISLAMABAD: Petrol price has been increased by Rs4.61 per litre to Rs393.75 for September 22, 2026, while High Speed Diesel (HSD) price has been reduced by Rs1.96 to Rs422.08, resulting in a mixed revision of petroleum product prices.
According to the Petroleum Division, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has revised the ex-depot prices of petroleum products under the federal government’s petroleum pricing mechanism, with the revised rates applicable on September 22.
The price of Motor Spirit (petrol) has increased from Rs389.14 to Rs393.75 per litre, marking a rise of Rs4.61 per litre.
The latest increase has pushed petrol closer to the Rs400-per-litre mark and will raise fuel expenses for motorists. A consumer purchasing 50 litres of petrol will now pay Rs230.50 more than under the previous price.
On the other hand, the price of HSD has been reduced from Rs424.04 to Rs422.08 per litre, providing a reduction of Rs1.96 per litre.
A consumer purchasing 50 litres of diesel will save Rs98 compared with the previous price, while the price of diesel nevertheless remains above Rs400 per litre.
The latest revision has created a mixed movement in petroleum prices, with petrol becoming more expensive while diesel has recorded a decline.
The Petroleum Division said the revision was necessitated by changes in global petroleum market factors, including Platts rates, premiums and incidentals.
With the latest adjustment, petrol is priced at Rs393.75 per litre, while HSD is available at Rs422.08 per litre for September 22.
The revised ex-depot prices are applicable on September 22, 2026.
