ISLAMABAD: The government has reduced the price of petrol by Rs1.65 per litre and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs0.88 per litre for the three-day period from September 19 to 21, 2026.
According toPetroleum Division, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised the ex-depot prices of petroleum products under the federal government’s petroleum pricing mechanism.
The price of Motor Spirit (MS), commonly known as petrol, has been reduced from Rs390.79 to Rs389.14 per litre, marking a decrease of Rs1.65 per litre.
Similarly, the price of High Speed Diesel (HSD) has been cut from Rs424.92 to Rs424.04 per litre, showing a reduction of Rs0.88 per litre.
The revised prices will be applicable for September 19 to September 21, 2026, according to the Petroleum Division.
The latest reduction follows the government’s petroleum pricing mechanism under which OGRA reviews and revises petroleum product prices in line with relevant market factors.
The Petroleum Division said the change in petroleum prices was necessitated by global events, including changes in Platts rates, premiums and incidentals.
The revised ex-depot prices are:
Motor Spirit (MS): Rs389.14 per litre, down Rs1.65 from Rs390.79.
High Speed Diesel (HSD): Rs424.04 per litre, down Rs0.88 from Rs424.92.
The Petroleum Division directed that the revised prices would remain applicable for the specified three-day period, after which petroleum prices may be reviewed under the prevailing pricing mechanism.
